Home groups
The home group dates in the diary should be correct. However dates and venues do sometimes change at short notice and some groups may decide not to meet inhalf term week, 31st May to 4th June.
For Hervey Road group information, please consult Dahlia Simmons or Chris Hood; for Kingfisher Road, see Kathy Frost.
Home group leaders are reminded of their "social" on Friday 21st May.
Christian Aid
The Christian Aid committee will meet at church at 7.30pm on Thursday 20th May. Please could all envelopes collected be delivered to Jane Ratcliffe or to the church by then so that the money can be counted and sent off promptly. Thank you for all your help.
Parent and Toddler
This group will close in its present form after the session on 26th May. Thanks are due to all those who have helped run the group over so many years. It is not only that the group is now short of volunteer helps but that the needs of the target group have changed. Please pray for what Christ Church should do for small children and their parents in the future.

A Passion For Life Youth - Lessons in Bury schools
Thanks to all those who prayed for Matt as he delivered lessons throughout March and April (32 in all). Space was made in the lessons for Q&A sessions, and these were in many ways the best parts of the lessons. Students got to ask their burning questions about God and receive an honest answer – which sometimes surprised, sometimes offended, but always led on to even more questions! Pray that there will be far-reaching impact into the lives of the students that Matt met and spoke to during the lessons.
The Life Lounge
The Life Lounge took place over two nights in The Lounge coffee house in Bury St Edmunds, involving youth leaders from 5 local churches, as well as the BCY staff team.
The evenings explored Jesus’ statement in John 10:10 that he came to give ‘life in all its fullness’, encouraging the young people to discover that a full life is not found in chasing after experiences (Night 1 – Are you experienced?) or ‘stuff’ (Night 2 ‘Got to have it?’), but in pursuing a relationship with Jesus Christ. Give God thanks for two brilliant, fun nights of listening, chatting, feedback, questions, video, music, prayer and cake!
The most popular element of the evening was a text number to which the young people could anonymously text their questions. A panel of willing youth workers then answered the best of the texts at the end of the evening. We were able to speak Truth into so many tough questions, and talk one-to-one with some of the young people about issues they are facing. Pray as we talk about repeating the event and following up the young people who attended.
Pray For Schools, St James School, 26th April 2010
Although the attendance was disappointing, all those who met to pray for students and the issues they face (as well as the teachers who work with them) experienced a moving night of prayer for the young people of our district. Praying for schools really does make a difference – we see it on a daily basis in our work! The next Pray For Schools will be in September – details to follow soon, so please do all you can to be there!
